A significant new development which includes 347 residential apartments has been approved for Maylands on the old Ross’s Salvage site on Railway Parade.

Maylands Butcher Hampshire on Eighth is another great addition to the popular and vibrant shopping and cafe precinct. With its focus on exceptional, free-range meats from smallholder WA farmers, including owner Belinda Wood’s own farm in Manjumup, its a butchers with a difference.

Ace Pizza in Highgate, Swallow Bar in Maylands and Five Bar in Mt Lawley have all been named as one of Perth’s Top 10 budget restaurants by The Guardian writer Max Brearley.

Maylands Hawkers Market opens!

The Maylands Hawkers Market have started! It pops up every Saturday from September to April from 4:30pm to 8:00pm at The Rise (Eighth Avenue) in Maylands. Think mobile food court with lots of vans and stalls offering a variety of hot foods through to desserts and coffee. A must do for a Spring or Summer Saturday evening.

Buns in the oven

Buns and bread, the artisanal variety, are about to abound in our local suburbs with new bakeries opening or planned for Highgate, Maylands and Inglewood.
