Had something stolen? Dodgy types hanging around? Who ya gonna call?!

In the wake of what seems to be a local bike stealing spree, community noticeboards have been hit with posts by concerned locals about what to do when it comes to reporting theft or what appears to be suspicious behaviour and activity in our local suburbs.

In the event that you’ve had something stolen, have been the victim of another form of crime or have witnessed what you think is a criminal incident, your first port of call is the Police on 131 444. Police can’t respond to crime that’s not reported, can’t record or measure any changes or increases in local activity they don’t know about and can’t allocate additional resources or introduce preventative measures without any evidence, so it’s important that all theft or criminal activity, no matter how small, is reported to the Police.

If the matter concerns vandalism or anti social behaviour or you’re just suspicious about someone hanging around your local ‘hood, both the City of Stirling and the City of Bayswater operate local 24 hour security patrols that you can contact. If you’re in the City of Stirling call 1300 365 356 and if you’re in Bayswater call 1300 360 333.

For those wanting to provide information in relation to a suspected crime or suspicious activity anonymously, you can call CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000 or report it online via the link here.

If you’ve got the time and the inclination to become more involved, you could also start up or join a local neighbourhood watch group, or get involved in a local community Facebook Page and share information about activity in your area. For Inglewood residents, try Inglewood Community Noticeboard, for Maylands join the Maylands Residents and Ratepayers Association Page, in Bayswater check out Bayswater Collective, if you live in North Perth check out North Perth Local or alternatively, you’re welcome to post information that’s of community interest to our own FB Page, Beaufort & Beyond, which has followers right across our local suburbs.

And the blokes above? They were caught on camera recently stealing parcels delivered by Australia Post to an address in Inglewood. If you know them or can provide further information to the investigation, call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
