5 to try: Dog Parks

What’s not to love about enjoying the great outdoors with your fur babies? Here are five places to hang out and have a play with your favourite four legged legend.

Riverside Gardens, Bayswater

End of Milne Street, Bayswater

There’s the Swan River, playground, BBQ’s, plenty of wide open spaces for your pooch to run off leash, a walk/cycle path and on most days a coffee van. It’s your one stop shop dog and family fun day really! Highly popular with dogs that love the water.

Jack Marks Reserve, Highgate

Wright Street, Highgate

A smaller, low fenced park with open grassed area plus children’s playground that’s popular for day time and evening meet ups with the surrounding locals.

Shearn Park, Maylands

Between Central & Sixth Avenue Maylands, West of the railway line.

A fully fenced oval with playground, basketball hoop and cricket nets plus plenty of places to park. Busy on week nights and weekends!

Inglewood Dog Park, Mount Lawley

Central Avenue, Mount Lawley

Located at the back of the carpark servicing Inglewood Oval, this is a fully fenced purpose built space for dogs which includes both sand and grassed areas and agility props. Typically quiet during the day and busy in the evenings.

Yokine Reserve, Yokine

Wordsworth Avenue, Yokine

With over 5kms of walk paths, a selection of huge open spaces plus a superb nature playground there’s something to satisfy every dog and their human at Yokine Reserve. A coffee van is often parked in the carpark adjacent to the Yokine Play Space which is the second entrance off Wordsworth Ave if heading down from Alexander Drive.

And that rounds out our five (of it must be said very many!) dog friendly parks in our local suburbs. Did we miss your favourite? Leave a comment below!

    Hi Natalie,
Boy, you do a fantastic job of promoting our area! I’m so impressed by your website and read everything when it appears in my inbox. It’s as good as a local paper in letting us know what’s happening. Thank you!
We live in Inglewood and love our regular dog walks in Yokine Reserve, though we have to drive there. It must be one of the country’s most generous and beautiful dog parks, and there’s quite a community of dog lovers who go there every day. I couldn’t believe my eyes when we discovered it!
